Will the CEO align the Building Performance Colorado policy with Energize Denver?

Does anyone else stay up at night wondering if the State of CO will align their Building Performance Colorado ordinance with the now updated Energize Denver ordinance? I'm guessing no, but here is why it matters. The Energize Denver ordinance has pushed their final and interim compliance target years back a couple years, but the Colorado Energy Office has not. That means that the state's compliance deadlines for buildings over 50,000 sq ft still stand and are almost here. June 1st is still the deadline for benchmarking submissions but more importantly, Dec 31st 2025 is the deadline for any Alternative Compliance options, Target Adjustments, and Timeline Extensions. These all require an ASHRAE Level 2 energy assessment which is a comprehensive building analysis that takes time. And luckily, there are still great rebates for these in Denver. I can shamelessly say my company specializes in helping customers through this process and I have already helped these larger customers fine-tune their EUI scores to avoid gigantic penalties. Besides finding creative ways to meet ordinance goals, energy assessments can find cost effective energy saving projects, and that has always been a great thing.
