Gross Floor Area (GFA) Analysis

The Gross Floor Area (GFA) is the total property square footage of a building, measured between the outside surface of the exterior walls. This metric is the denominator of the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) equation (kBtu/SF) and even small measurement errors can determine whether a building is compliant or facing penalties.

What is included in Gross Floor Area?
